Meet Wink! Wink was a stray dog who came into the shelter for euthanasia at someone’s report. She was very defensive at first. We found out why after 3 days, she gave birth to 3 babies. We didn’t know she was pregnant but she was very vigilant when it came to protecting the baby. It took 3 days to open up her heart. She raised her babies so well and they were adopted right away. One eye was quite shrunken from the moment she entered the shelter so no one adopted her. Unfortunately she soon ended up on the euthanasia list, luckily rescuers were able to get her out of the shelter and her atrophy eye was removed. She was treated for heart worm but is now perfectly healthy! We are looking for a patient and understanding home that is willing to give her the time she needs to open up. Wink is patently waiting!

Note:  It’s important how she approaches her at first. Rather than being rushed, give her a little time and her actions shouldn’t be big. She’s a little scared because she has one eye. But when she opens up, she does pretty things with all her heart. She’s such a pretty, lovely angel.
