Hi… I’m Timmy.  I’m not sure how stories are supposed to begin, but mine didn’t start on a couch. It didn’t start with toys or warm blankets or someone calling my name. It started in a place where dogs didn’t get names at all.

I came from a puppy mill in Taiwan. Back then, I was just another small black pup behind wire, watching the world instead of living in it. I didn’t know what a “home” was. I didn’t know what it meant when someone said “good boy.” But I always hoped.

Now I’m here—1 year and 8 months old, 7 pounds of soft black curls with my fancy white spots and little eyebrow dots (people say they make me look surprised all the time… I think I just am surprised 😄).

I’m still learning things—like how to walk nicely on a leash and exactly where I’m supposed to do my business (I’m doing really well, promise!). Everything feels new, but also… exciting.

My favorite things? Oh, I have a list. I love toys. Not just chasing them—I throw them up in the air first. It’s very advanced technique. Then I pounce like I meant to do that all along. Twice a day, I get these bursts of energy—zoomies, they call them—and I race around like the wind. After that? I’m a professional couch potato.

Honestly, I’m happiest curled up next to you, giving little kisses and pretending I’m part of the furniture. At night, I sleep quietly in my crate. I don’t make a fuss. In the morning, I just wait patiently for you to come get me. I’ve learned that good things come when you wait.

I like other dogs too. I’m polite—I respect their space and stay calm, even on walks. I try to read the room… or, you know, the sidewalk.

Cats? I’m not sure yet.

Kids? I might be a little jumpy, but hey—I’m tiny. Everything is big to me. Kids who understand that might be perfect.

Oh! And I’m smart. Like, really smart. Puzzle toys? Yes please. And if snacks are involved? I will absolutely figure it out. I’m very food motivated… in a charming way. Mostly, though, I’m just… sweet.

I didn’t always get kindness in my life, but I held onto something anyway. Maybe hope. Maybe love I hadn’t met yet.

If you adopt me, I won’t just be your dog. I’ll be your shadow on the couch, your quiet little companion in the morning, your tiny burst of joy twice a day when I zoom across the room for no reason at all.

I don’t need much.  Just a soft place.  A little patience while I keep learning.  And someone to finally call mine.

Oh—and one more thing… my foster mom says she’s a little picky (she says it with love). Not everyone gets to meet me. If you want a chance, you’ll need to complete an application first. She just wants to make sure my next home is my forever one.

I think that’s fair.  I’ve been waiting a long time to belong.
