Meet Sqwash! This sweet, cuddly, huggy, kissy baby-giant is waiting for you to pick up all 60 lbs of her baby self, and squeeze and squish her on your lap. She will suction-cup herself onto your legs as you stand there, so you can never move and have to pet her and love her for ever and ever and ever.

Darling Sqwash is the embodiment of affection. She will greet you by putting her chin on your leg, gazing into your eyes, and holding your soul in her heart. She lovvvvvves kids. She is a livestock-guardian breed, and her chosen flock is children. Her purpose in life, is to love and protect kids. If they fall, she is right there to love them back to health. If they stray, she will be at their side. (She’s also a clumsy baby-giant, who will knock over anyone smaller than her. Repeatedly. With love and enthusiasm.)

Sqwash is very smart and highly food motivated. She is housebroken and uses a doggie door. She is able to walk on a loose leash, but she wants to say hello to everyone she sees. She loves all other dogs. She hasn’t met cats, but she ignores the chickens in the yard. She will go into a crate and stay quietly, but she isn’t “crate trained” as a regular practice. She’s great in the car. She is not generally destructive (although she’ll tear up any paper she finds, and rips through her own toys.) She doesn’t seem to have any separation anxiety (She always has another dog with her, when “alone” in the house.)

Sqwash is an Anatolian Shepherd. She is going to be a giant – probably 100 lbs or more full grown. (She’s over 60 lbs at just barely 6 months!) She will thrive in a home that understands the importance of constant socialization with a livestock guardian breed. She would do best with a yard, because she enjoys going outside and spending quiet time alone during the day.

Sqwash is being fostered in the El Sobrante / Richmond area. We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a baby-giant puppy / livestock guardian breed as a member of their family. Sqwash is eagerly waiting!
