Milky
Meet Milky! Milky was rescued during our #SaversProject, from a government shelter in Hongseong that was once again at capacity just months after our last visit. Among the dogs we rescued were four fragile puppies — the only survivors in their litter, including Milky. He had been battling coronavirus at the time. Despite the odds, he pulled through, proving that this little guy has a big, fighting spirit.
Personality:
Sweet like milk, but brave like a lion — that’s Milky. He’s curious, expressive, and always at the front of the pack. Though he’s small, he’s already showing signs of being a natural leader. He overcame serious illness and now continues to grow strong, curious, and full of life.
People Skills:
Milky hasn’t had many chances to interact with humans before his rescue, but he’s quickly learning. He’s the most expressive and outgoing of his siblings and doesn’t shy away from being handled by people. With continued positive experiences, he’s likely to form strong bonds with humans and become a loving companion.
Dog-Friendly:
Milky is social and always hanging out with other dogs during playtime! He can be a friend with any furry friends, while he sometimes enjoys his lone time with plushies, too.
Energy & Exercise:
Even when he was a puppy, he was one of the gentle ones among his siblings – not too much crazy puppy energy. Milky has been practicing walking with a handler once a day, and he also has a daily playtime with other dogs, but for the other times – he doesn’t mind relaxing by himself.
Training:
Milky picked up on potty training (using a wee pad) pretty quickly, and is currently working on crate & leash training. He has been super engaging during the leash training and showing a big improvement everyday!
Health Notes:
No particular health concerns! Milky tends to get carsick on long rides, so he’ll need a bit of extra care and comfort when traveling.
Ideal Home:
While Milky has grown so much since rescue, he is still just 6-7 months old; this is a critical time for both physical and emotional development. An apartment or house can both work well, as long as he is together with the loving family! If there’s another dog in the home, it would be best if they’re well-socialized and mature enough to help guide our puppy Milky.
