If you are looking for a sweet little people pleaser and an all-around good companion dog, then Loda (Lola) is your girl!  This cutie has the prettiest little face and soft eyes that look deep into your heart.   Don’t let her petite size fool you; she has a big, brave heart and does not seem to be bothered by anything.  She likes to be near her people, but is not clingy.  She is very attentive and treat-motivated, so training her should be a lot of fun.  She loves toys and will need a variety, because she loves to have choices!  She will dig through the entire toy box to find the one that she wants to play with, and then change her mind 10 minutes later and go back to find a new one. Her foster mom is trying to teach her fetch because she will pick up a ball and carry it around, but bringing it back is still not in her skill set.   She plays really well with her dog foster brother and is not intimidated, even though he is bigger and stronger. In fact, she is usually the one who starts the play!

Loda is friendly and responds to her name, so she will approach new people when called. She is not a licker, but will nudge you with her nose when she thinks she is being ignored.  She is medium energy and loves to go on walks.  Her leash skills are good, and she walks well on both a harness and a collar.

She can tolerate a crate and exercise pen, but in true Shiba diva fashion, will fuss a little bit before she settles.   When she is out of her pen, she will find a spot to rest next to her people. Her foster mom works outside the home, so Loda (Lola)  is at home with her dog foster brother and does fine.

She could live with another dog, but would not mind having all the love and affection to herself.  Her foster mom has not tested her with cats yet. We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Loda is patiently waiting!
