Meet Happy! Happy is an adorable 7 months old Border Collie mix. Happy is exactly what his name suggests—Happy! Happy is friendly with humans and dogs (large and small) and will want to be friends immediately. Because he’s so energetic and playful, he would do best in a household with a backyard and/or with an active lifestyle. His favorite time of the day is play time when he gets to play fetch or tug of war and can play for a really long time. Sometimes he’ll keep himself busy and play ball by himself or chew on his favorite chew toys.

Happy is extremely food motivated and will likely eat anything that’s given to him. This has been helpful in teaching him a lot of commands quickly like sit, down, shake, turnaround, jump, stay, come, and ok (to eat). He’s very smart and will only listen when there’s a food reward. He’s a very quick learner and should have no problem learning more tricks as long as you give him some time, patience, and food. He’s not a picky eater and will eat dog food, meat, fruits, vegetables, and any treat you give him. His favorite treats are puppuccino, peanut butter, and meat patties.
Happy has a little bit of separation anxiety and it would be best if someone was home with him all day. When his foster first got him, he was glued to them and would cry even when they are in separate rooms. He’s gotten a lot better and would now be comfortable on his own around the house or in the backyard. Whenever his foster family wakes up in the morning or return home, they always look forward to a very happy Happy welcoming them and jumping on them for a while before he settles down. Once you start giving him butt and belly rubs, he won’t want you to stop. He will shower you with kisses and snuggles everyday.
We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a puppy. Happy is patiently waiting!
