Meet Cherry! Cherry was rescued from a puppy mill, where she was kept in cages without proper care. She’s very calm and loving, and very playful too. She is also highly food-motivated!

Due to her previous lack of care, she’s lost some teeth and she’s a bit messy when eating or catching treats, but she will finish everything without hesitation! Her spine and hips have a small issue, she might not run as much or as fast, and she will need to be carried up and down stairs, but she’s otherwise active and walks and play like any happy dog.

She doesn’t require a lot of physical activity, and she can generally entertain herself with toys,  or just nap or sunbathe by the window when the weather is nice, so she’s very easy to take care of. She’s learned not to go potty inside the house if she’s taken out regularly, but letting you know that she needs to go out might need some patience and training.

Cherry loves meeting other dogs and people. She’s friendly with everybody. If anything, a bit too curious and too drawn to other dogs and people, so walking her out on a leash might need a bit of patience when there are people going in a different direction. (However, when there’s food or toys involved, she can get a bit territorial. She’s been living with other dogs at her foster’s place and it’s not really a hard problem for them to handle.)

We believe Cherry will thrive in any loving home that takes good care of her. She’s really nice and generally easy to take care of. It might be more convenient for her to live on a ground floor due to her spine and hips issue. We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Cherry is patiently waiting!
