Meet Bagel! Bagel is an adorable 4 year old Tibetan Mastiff mix. Bagel was tied to a tree for the first couple years of her life with her litter mate and sister, Bobby. Her family fostered then adopted both Bagel and Bobby, however together they amplify their reactivity and create aggression issues. It is with a heavy heart that they need to separate them for their own good so that they can lead full lives.

Bagel is apprehensive about everyone, but she loves her people. She loves to play with others pups and be chased round and round the yard, though she can occasionally resource guard (food especially). She has never met a cat, though she has barked at some from her living room window. Given her breed, she does not need a great amount of exercise and is happy taking medium length walks. She needs a backyard where she can do her business and sleep in the sun.

She has some separation anxiety, and will bark at the wind, but her home has been leaving her at home with their other dog and they just kind of hang out together. She carries some resentment for men, something from her previous life. She is not a fan of strangers (men especially), and needs a disciplined hand in training her out of her reactivity/anxiety. She has bitten a house guest, nipped at his ankle and unfortunately broke skin. She uses this as a warning not an attack, but her new home must be aware of this danger and be invested in creating an environment where she feels comfortable and will not feel the need to be so defensive.

Her new some needs to be someone with experience handling big dogs with big anxiety. If you give her that love and devotion she will return it ten fold. We are looking for a loving home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Bagel is patiently waiting!
