Appa is a sweet, gentle Formosan Mountain Dog that loves spending time and cuddling with his people. On a typical day, Appa is napping in his crate or sunbathing. He patiently waits for attention from his people, walks and meals.

The ideal home for Appa would be with adults, no children, and another calm, well socialized dog to help Appa build his confidence. Initially, Appa is shy with strangers and curious about other dogs in neutral settings. After a walk or hike, Appa will warm up to strangers and other dogs. He is reactive in the home but is able to soothe himself. He prefers to be in another room, in his crate, with the door closed, when strangers are in the home.

We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Appa is patiently waiting!
