Brief Bio:

River, AKA “Kisses”, “Puppy Snuggle-Buckets”, or “Miss Worry-Face” is the sweetest little girl you’ll ever meet.  River is like that quiet girl from gradeschool who sits in the back of the classroom – the one who stays on the bench at lunch and reads books. The one who, once you get to know her, is just sweet, kind, and becomes your best friend. River is shy like that that girl, but once she gets to know you, she is full of kisses and love, playfulness and joy. Don’t let her resting-worry-face fool you – she’s a happy, energetic, sweet puppy.

River is good on leash, and has mostly gotten over her fears of fire hydrants and garden flags. She’s great with other dogs, and she loves to lick the cat’s ears. She’s potty trained (with a doggie door). She doesn’t chew things around the house, although, like her sister Dorah, she does enjoy eating clumps of dirt (which is the drawback of having a doggie-door). She’s probably going to be about 45 lbs full grown.
She is being fostered in El Sobrante with her sister Dorah, and we are hoping that they can be adopted together. (They could be separated if it was the perfect situation.) Really, though, their foster mother promises that the two together really aren’t more work than either one alone! Really!

How to help?

If you have extra time on your hand and would like to help please consider volunteering! Rescue groups need dedicated volunteers to help with events, fundraisers, home checks, transports, etc. All of these things help enable the rescue to expand their network and help more dogs in need.
