Meet Miranda! Miranda was found in the hills of Taiwan, with two of her paws stuck in a clamp-trap people set out on their property to keep strays away. Rescuers rushed her to the vet, and they saved her hind paw, but they couldn’t save her front paw. They also found out that she was pregnant, and they couldn’t save the puppies.

Miranda has fully recovered, and she is doing great! She runs and plays, wrestles with the other dogs, goes up and down stairs, and can go on walks up to a mile or more! She is happy, loves to give hugs, gives great kisses, and she’s learned to sleep on the bed at night with the humans. She’s house trained, doesn’t chew on things she’s not supposed to, and she’s besties with the cat. She does OK on leash, enjoying stopping to read the p-mail at every other bush. About the size of a Corgi, she’s full-grown at about 30 lbs.

Miranda has been through some real trauma, and she does have some skittishness in new situations, and shyness with new people. Her family will need to have patience, and understand that she might occasionally have moments where she reacts with fear to something she sees. She also has been known to be defensive around other dogs, although she gets along well with her foster mom’s dogs. So she’d be great in an only-dog home, and would need to be carefully evaluated for a multi-dog home.

Miranda is being fostered in El Sobrante. Meet-and-greets can be arranged, as long as safe-distancing is followed.
