Meet Autumn! Autumn is an adorable 4 years old Golden Retriever! She is on the smaller side of golden retrievers but is solidly built at around 50lbs with big paws. Her general disposition is laid back and reserved, but not skittish. She’s social with whomever wants to pet her and wants to be in the same space with her people.

Autumn is food motivated and good in her crate. She willingly enters with treats and meals, can be left in it for blocks of time, but she doesn’t sleep in it. Her foster mom is having good success with sit/stay; even through anticipation of her meals, she will sit outside of her crate until she gets the OK to eat.

Autumn is still working on potty training, but is 80% there. She walks well on-leash and is good with dog encounters. Some city sounds startle her, but she walks confidently with curiosity. At the dogpark, she is initially hesitant and eventually engages in and initiates play. Autumn would love a home with a backyard! She would do best in a home with children 12 and up due to her excitement around food and size. Autumn loves to climb onto furnitures and counter surf, so she needs a home who is aware of this and will put all foods away. She likes to find socks or clothes on the floor but readily “drops” when corrected.

We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Autumn is patiently waiting!
