Jacey
Jacey is an active playful smart girl who was rescued from a puppy mill. She loves to play fetch and has zoomies with twirls. She enjoys lawns to do her leg kicking exercise and basking in the sun. Therefore, a home with an enclosed backyard with a lawn is ideal for Jacey as it is also her preferred bathroom environment. Jacey does not appear to be a fan of pee pads. She is not fond of doggy doors, as she does not like going through small spaces. She does like you to walk out with her for her bathroom breaks, which is probably a good idea as she does have a poop eating habit that needs to be corrected.
Jacey is very sensitive with her head, besides taking gentle pettings and quick kisses, she doesn’t like close ups. She loves her walks, especially at the park where there is even more grass for her to do her leg exercise. While Jacey tolerates short drives to the park, she does appear to get motion sickness and does not do well on long rides. Jacey is afraid of loud noises and big fast movements. It sets her off into a frenzy where she will not respond when called upon and run aimlessly. Therefore, a calm mature household would be best, and she should always be on a leash when out as her triggers are unpredictable.
Jacey velcro herself to every human she meets. She loves laps where she would sit to give you licks. While she loves to be picked up to be placed on your lap, Jacey is not a fan of being held in the arms. Equally not a favor of Jacey’s is being left alone. She has high separation anxiety where she will pace and bark continuously and the stress will cause her to have accidents. Every noise and sound she hears will set her off, therefore she is best suited for a detached home so neighbors cannot be disturbed and vice versa.
Jacey does exhibit an alpha personality as she likes to take over others’ space, spots, toys and person. Therefore, Jacey probably would be best as a solo dog with a homebody, or with a very docile dog companion. She does not seek other dogs’ companionship, but she tolerates other dogs as long as they do not bother her. Jacey is not comfortable with engaging play with high energy dogs of bigger stature than her. She perceives it as an attack and will react to defend herself, therefore, if there are to be other dog(s) in the household, they should be of comparable size or smaller.
Jacey is reactive on leash where she will bark and lunge when crossing dogs on her walks. However, with treats in hand, and consistent training, there is a high chance she will be corrected. She does not appear to be a fan of cats as the sight of one with her in the car would even set her off. Jacey may be small in stature, but she has an insatiable appetite where she will eat everything if left to her own devices even without her full set of teeth, therefore her food should be portioned. If there is to be another dog(s) in the household, feeding should be separated, and there shouldn’t be any kind of food aggression. While Jacey isn’t aggressive with food, she will attempt to take every food and treat. Jacey also has an affinity for water. Besides the usual consumption, Jacey drinks when she gets excited, stressed and when her anxiety kicks in.
Jacey is looking for a human BFF who has first-hand dog ownership experience and someone who doesn’t mind spending most of the day with her velcroed to you as you shower her with love and affection. We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Jacey is patiently waiting!
