Meet beautiful Dory! Dory was rescued from a horrible puppy mill along with many others. She was kept in a small filthy cage all her life and used solely as a means to make a profit. Under Dory’s shy and skittish front, hides a very sweet, affectionate and playful dog. Despite the harships of her past, she is trying to trust humans again and will need continued socialization and patience to fully build her confidence.

Dory loves receiving affection and hanging out near her humans. She puts her cute little paw on your arm or leg to ask for attention and, once she trusts you, LOVES belly rubs. She enjoys her walks, playing alone or with another small dog and sitting on the couch looking out the window. She is learning to be more comfortable when being picked up.

Dory would thrive most in a home with another small companion to play with and show her the world is not a scary place. She will also do well as an only dog, if she is around her humans most of the day. Home without small children would be best due to her being shy and easily startled. Dory is food motivated and would benefit from socialization and positive reinforcement to continue to build her confidence. Dory is patiently waiting!
