Meet Ryder! Ryder is a sweet and loving 8 year old poodle looking for his forever home! He has a bit of arthritis in his hips and joints due to years of poor nutrition in a small cage at a puppy mill in Taiwan. However, it doesn’t stop him from prancing around the neighborhood on walks, bouncing up and down the stairs to follow his humans everywhere, and jumping on the couch to lounge next to you!
Ryder does well in his crate alone and is fully potty trained. He does fine with other dogs and will engage in play, as long as they respect his space when he wants to rest. He would also do best in a home with older children who understand how to gently handle him due to his arthritis, as he may react with a low growl or a nip if he’s uncomfortable.
Ryder is super cuddly and will nudge your hands/arms to get your attention for a neck massage or a scratch on the ear! He is generally very quiet but will bark when he gets excited like when the doorbell rings or when you come home after a long day away. Ryder is also food motivated and listens well with treats. Ryder loves to sunbathe and will always find the best spots around the house to take his day naps.
We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Ryder is patiently waiting!
