Yeonu
Meet Yeonu! Yeonu was rescued after being abandoned in a residential neighborhood where people live, thankfully rescuers were able to get him off the streets and into foster care. Yeonu is a sweet, easygoing boy who loves being around people but is also comfortable relaxing on his own. Despite his playful side, he is generally calm indoors and enjoys playing fetch when someone throws a toy for him. On walks and at dog parks, he is polite and relaxed, preferring to sniff around and explore rather than engage in rough play with other dogs.
Yeonu is friendly with both men and women and has done well with young children. When he first arrived at his foster home, he happily approached each family member to say hello. He enjoys being petted and staying close to the people he loves, but he is not overly demanding of attention. Yeonu walks nicely on leash and behaves well during grooming. He rides calmly in the car, enjoys treats, and knows several commands, including sit, paw, high five, nose touch, V sign, and wait. He is also comfortable riding in a dog stroller.
Yeonu does struggle with being left completely alone. Initially, he was very attached to his foster mom and became anxious whenever she left, even if other family members were home. With gradual training and by allowing other family members to participate more in his care, he has made significant progress. He now settles much more quickly when his foster mom leaves, although he still needs support with being alone.
In August 2026, Yeonu underwent cruciate ligament and patella surgery and has since been cleared as fully recovered. However, there may be a risk of arthritis, so maintaining a healthy weight and losing excess weight are important to protect his joints. His left hip has also shown a potential concern on X rays. Food allergies have not yet been confirmed, and he has some tear staining around his mouth and paws.
Yeonu would thrive in a loving home where someone can spend plenty of time with him and help him continue building confidence when alone. A family with children could be a great fit for this affectionate, gentle boy. He has already shown how quickly he can feel at home, happily stretching out on the sofa and sleeping belly up just one day after arriving at his foster home. Yeonu is patiently waiting for a home to call his own!
