Meet Jax! Jax come into rescue after his owner passed and is currently looking for a new home along with Maggie, they do not need to be adopted together but they have been together when their owner was alive. Jax is a sweet, affectionate, and vibrant little guy. He is a curious soul.

Jax is affectionate, loves people, and craves attention. His dog walkers report that he absolutely loves his trips to the dog park and did well with kids and other dogs. Jax is highly alert and expressive—he will literally howl with pure joy when he gets excited! He is also a barker and a guard dog. He already knows his basic commands and is eager to please the people he trusts.

Jax would benefit from a home with patience. Jax can be a bit shy at first and needs a little time to build trust with new people. Because he is loyal, he can occasionally be a bit protective. He grew up with a yard and gets incredibly excited for his walks. He would thrive in an active household. Jax must stay on a leash outdoors because he can’t be trusted off-leash. He would benefit from someone who enjoys dog training. While he gets along with other dogs (he grew up with another dog, Maggie), Jax would be ok being the only dog so he can soak up 100% of attention.

He previously lived with a senior cat who wasn’t a fan of his energy, so a cat-free home is likely best. Jax was never crate-trained and can experience some minor separation anxiety, so a home where people are around often would be ideal. If you are an active owner with some dog-training experience and a lot of love to give, Jax might just be your new best friend.
