Meet Butter Butter is a ~3-year-old, 23-lb terrier/doodle mix with a big heart and a love for his people. He’s being rehomed due to the arrival of an infant in his current home and behaviors that require more structure, consistency, and training.

Butter is truly a lovebug at heart. He adores snuggling, eagerly offers his belly for rubs, and will climb onto you for affection. When picked up, he holds on like a little baby, wrapping his paws around your neck. He’s playful and happy, often zooming around the house with toys in his mouth. He generally gets along well with other dogs his size, though he can be anxious and vocal when initiating play and is uncomfortable around large dogs.

Butter is young, intelligent, and very trainable, but he does have behavioral challenges that need an experienced, adult-only home. He struggles with resource guarding around food and may nip as a warning when overtired or challenged, such as during late potty breaks. These behaviors are predictable and could improve significantly with consistent training and clear boundaries. Because of this, Butter is not safe for homes with young children and would do best with adults or teenagers who understand and respect dog boundaries.

He is crate trained at night, mostly housebroken with occasional accidents, and does okay on leash with some pulling. Butter may bark briefly when left alone but settles and is not destructive. He also tends to pick things up on walks, so his future family should be prepared to manage this behavior responsibly.

Butter would thrive in a calm, structured home with patient, committed adopters who can give him the guidance he needs—and in return, he’ll offer endless affection, loyalty, and cuddles.
