Brief Bio:

Meet Toni! Toni was a stray who was wandering around a busy street. Unfortunately there were a lot of cars speeding by and she was hit by one of them. Rescuers found her in that state and rushed her to the vet. She underwent surgery and is not fully recovered! Toni is a very sweet girl who had a really rough past. Regardless of everything, she still trusts humans and is very affectionate. We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning a dog. Toni is patiently waiting!

"When we first saw Toni on the Love & Second Chances website, we thought she was a cutie.... her colors and those floppy ears! Then we read her story: she was a stray running around with other pups that unfortunately ran through a very busy street and got hit. She required surgery to repair her hip/leg that still hadn't healed... it tugged at our hearts! After a couple of days we asked if we could meet her and that's when we found out that she was in Taiwan! We exchanged messages, pictures & videos with her rescuer in Taiwan for a few days, still a bit hesitant... but when she told us the vet there said that Toni's leg would probably always be a little shorter than the other (just like our son Harrison has gone through for years with his rare bone disease!) we knew that she belonged with us! It all happened fast after that and when we picked her up from SFO that was quite the adventure in itself! We all adapted to each other and she quickly made us a part of her "pack" and became very protective of us and her new home. When anyone comes over we take her out front to meet them and then we go in the house together and she is so sweet and well behaved, it's hard to believe she is still just a puppy! She loves her daily walks and her high speed laps around the backyard! She feels the need to "mark her territory" in the house now and then (still working on that!) but she's gained about 7 pounds and is using her injured leg more and more! We considered changing her name, but it fits her & like our sons said, "We can keep her name Toni for Iron Man/Tony Stark!"❤"
