No one said it would be easy, they only said it would be worth it.
Meet Pachi! Pachi is an adorable 4 months old Jack Russell/Papillon mix. Poor guy was born blind. Because he lived his life blind, it does’t bother him at all. Once he’s familiar with his surroundings, he can navigate everywhere he wants without issues! Pachi is currently still working on potty training and is almost completely pad trained. Once Pachi is comfortable with his surroundings he gets very playful. Pachi is a really sweet guy who is looking for a home who is patient enough with him and his special needs. We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of the family. Pachi is patiently waiting!
"Hi! We took Pachi home on my birthday weekend - in a few short days later, we went into shelter in place... so our first month and a half have been quite a unique one but a special month nevertheless. In less than a day from when brought him home, Pachi was coming out of his crate and exploring his surroundings. When he was learning the layout of his new house and would get lost, our 1.5 year old goldendoodle Sunny would lead him back to his kennel with a squeaky toy or a friendly nudge so he would feel safe. Fast forward to mid April, he is 90% potty trained and he prances around our entire living room and kitchen, attempting to jump onto the couch and slyly steal food from the coffee table. With shelter in place, they have had impeccable timing with loudly playing and wrestling during our work meetings and presentations but miraculously fall asleep when it’s all over.
Here are some fun facts that we learned about Pachi: 1. He is a secret hoarder - he mischievously takes our socks, Sunny’s toys, and even blankets and hides them in his kennel. 2. He is spunky and has so much energy - he will walk under Sunny’s legs to be first in line to get pet or butt scratch from mom and dad. Also, he has a mean R (paw) hook and strong jaws that clench onto Sunny’s golden locks when they play. 3. He gets cold when outside and starts shaking when in unknown outdoor spaces - (we think it’s due to one of the owners leaving him outside for long periods of time) - but we carry him in my purse when we take Sunny on walks so he can get some sunbathing in. 4. He’s great with kids. He often stays in his kennel or bed but allows them to pet him and hold him with mom present. 5. He is a little cuddle bug and enjoys being placed on soft furry blankets. His Anthropologie fuzzy gray blanket is his current favorite and always guarantees a tail wag. 6. He has a mean overbite that gives him a smile that can’t help but make you smile!
Thank you Love Second Chances for saving him long enough for us to find him and for him to fill our hearts with love and happiness. Never did we think we would consider a dog with special needs as this was new territory for both of us - but IT WAS THE BEST DECISION WE HAVE EVER MADE! Hope all is well! -Kristina, Denis, Sunny, Pachi"
