Meet Sammy! Sammy is an adorable 5 year old long haired Chihuahua. He was rescued from a puppy-mill where he lived his whole life there as a stud dog in a deplorable environment.
Sammy is timid due to almost everything being a new experience for him and being so small. Once he gets to know you and trust you his true personality starts to come out. He’s an absolute love-bug and cuddle monster. He loves to sleep on his foster’s chest. Once he’s established one safe person he is more confident exploring the world and meeting new people.
He would do best in a quiet home with out children. Sammy would be fine with other dogs but would be happiest being the only dog and getting all the attention. He needs lots of gentle reassurance. Once he gets past his initial fears he will want to be with you all the time. However, he does fine in a dog safe space (crate or dedicated room) when you leave the house. Be sure he has plenty of blankets to help keep him warm.
We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member od their family. Sammy is patiently waiting!
