Looking for a sweet, energetic and goofy puppy to join your family? Look no further than Boksil! Boksil, or “Sil”, is a sweet and silly sapsali/terrier who weighs about 18 lbs at 6 months (we expect she’ll be 25ish lbs when fully grown, but this is just an estimate). She is making great strides in her house training, knows “sit”, “shake”, “down”, and “high five”, and has been nice with all humans (big and small) and other animals she’s met! While she may initially come across as a bit shy and take a few days to really show her personality, Sil has blossomed in her foster home— she bonds with her people and loves cuddles! Don’t let her shy nature fool you– Sil loves to play, has typical puppy mouthiness, and gets the “zoomies”! Once tired out, however, Sil is a cuddle bug, and she loves to snuggle on the couch. Sil is the perfect work from home companion, because in-between her walks and play sessions she just snoozes peacefully at your feet while you work. She sleeps through the night in her crate without a peep— no worries about a super early morning wake-up with this one!

Sil is still learning to be brave when leaving the house on a leash. She is excited for walks, but she sometimes freezes up when walking away from the house. Carrying her a couple of blocks away and starting from there really helps, as does driving to a local park or nearby trail to a place that is “neutral” to her. We believe that with practice and consistency she’ll get over this, as we’ve already seen progress! Sil would do best in a quieter neighborhood, with access to a backyard where she can play. She loves to see other dogs on her walks and at visits to the dog park, and we think she would do really well with another balanced dog in the home to play with, although this is not a requirement. Although she’s a well-behaved puppy overall, basic obedience training will go a long way in building her confidence and in helping her to control her mouthiness. She has also met several cats and did great with them– no chasing/prey drive– so we believe she could live with other pets in the home as well. All in all, Sil is such a gem. We just know there’s a special home out there waiting for our girl! Sil is patiently waiting!
