Meet Blaze! This baby giant is the sweetest, most gentle, mellow puppy girl you will ever meet in your life. If you’re a big-dog person, then you need to meet her. She will steal your heart with her big eyes and sweet affection. She is being fostered with her sister Phoenix.

Blaze was rescued from an illegal meat farm after the owner abandoned the dogs to escape a wildfire that tore through the area. Sadly, the dogs were left stuck in their cages and many did not survive the fire. Fortunately, some did and Blaze was one of them! We cannot imagine the horror these dogs had to go through not only being in a raised as meat dogs but also surviving the wildfire. Regardless of the situation Blaze is still full of love and life!

Blaze wants her own person or family to heap love onto her, and she will give it right back. She’s a big girl, and her heart is big too. She gives the most wonderful kisses, puts her head right into your hand for pets, and she loves belly rubs!

Everything in this world is new to Blaze, but she seems to be a fast learner! She learned the doggie door in less than a day, is quickly learning the rules and boundaries in her foster home, and you can just see her trying to think and process what is happening around her. She is learning to walk on leash, and just kind of goes in whatever direction her head is pointed. She hasn’t been kid tested, but would probably be great with children old enough to not be accidentally injured by a giant, clumsy puppy. She has not been cat tested. She is great with other dogs, loves to wrestle, and plays well with ones half her size or less. She will need to be exposed to a variety of people (especially men) right away, so that she learns that people are safe.

Phoenix is being fostered in El Sobrante. She is patiently waiting for someone with a heart big enough to hold her in it.
