Meet Tami! Sweet Tami is a friendly, loving, happy, resilient 6-7 year old Mastiff mix. Tami was born on a meat-farm in Korea. They kept her as a breeder, and she lived her whole life in a small cage, producing litter after litter. She was exposed to horrors that you don’t even want to imagine, and has scars from unthinkable abuse. And even after all of that, she wants nothing but to be loved.

If you have ever wanted to give a second chance to an abused dog, Tami is your girl. The first half of her life was torment, and you can help make the second half of her life glorious. She is the easiest dog you will ever meet, and seeing her joy in life will be the best reward you can have.

Darling Tami loves people, adores kids, and is great with other dogs. She is gentle, quiet, house-broken, and doesn’t chew things up. She has not been tested with cats, but she would probably be fine. Tami wants nothing more than to be by her foster mom’s side, and to greet everyone who comes to visit. She is very gentle, and would be fine with an elderly person who wants a companion to hang out and be loved.

After Tami was rescued, she was socialized with humans using a lot of treats, so she does have some weight to lose. And she’s already lost 10 lbs in her foster home! Her ideal weight is around 55 – 65 lbs.

At the mill, Tami was dragged by a rope around her neck, so she has trauma around walking on leash. She is resilient though, and has started to learn the world is safe and fun. She will walk 100 feet or so on leash now! She needs to be in a home with at least a small yard for potty, until she is able to do full walks. She does well in the car, and eventually she will be able to go on small adventures.

Tami is being fostered in El Sobrante, Richmond, CA. She is patiently waiting for someone who can give her enough love to make up for her lost years.
