Meet Riley!  Riley is a petite, lovable, sweet and spunky 8 month old terrier mix.  She was born in Korea, arriving in the states on October 12th.  She keeps her foster family in Pleasanton CA on their toes!  Constantly exploring, she enjoys collecting leaves and small twigs, making a pile she can admire and show off.

Riley still hasn’t decided whether she wants her ears up or down.  When she first arrived one ear was up, the other down.  Now she’s decided she prefers the both-ears-down look.  Who knows what the future holds for Riley’s ears!

Riley loves, loves, loves playing with other dogs.  Regardless of the size of her friend of the moment, she is all-in with playing, unafraid and unaware of the size difference.  She can definitely hold her own in a friendly doggie wrestling match.  And kids are her ultimate favorites: whether it be a good tug-o-war game or a snuggle at nap time, she’ll be their best friend.

Riley has good manners when it comes to sharing food and treats.  Although training time often competes with her valuable playtime, she is good at listening.  She recently figured out that something as simple as a “sit” brings tasty rewards.  Leash training has been a challenge; sometimes she’ll freeze when the leash is attached, other times she is too busy playing to notice.  Luckily, she is easy to scoop up into your arms.

Play-nap, play-nap, rinse-repeat.  That sums up Riley’s plans for the day.  She can’t have enough toys, removing every toy from the toy box every day.  She recently discovered the joy of tennis balls!  During nap time, she often sleeps at your feet, along with her favorite toy of the moment.

After a round of jumping on the bed and flying off to chase a self-thrown toy, she’ll crash on the bed when her foster humans are ready to retire for the night.  If necessary, she crates well and will sleep through the night.

Riley is hoping to find an active family with children, another dog or perhaps some dog friends.  Children would be a plus, as she enjoys their energy.  We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a puppy. Riley is patiently waiting!
