Meet Poka! Poka is an adorable 1 year and 8 months old Collie/Lab mix! She was abandoned by her previous owner before a rescuer saw her and took her in. She is now in a foster home in San Jose, CA and looking for a home to call her own!

Poka is a big, sweet, shaggy, playful dog. She is very upbeat, and pretty much always wants to play, frequently walking around with a toy in her mouth. She’s a gigantic puppy! Fortunately, when she calms down, she rests well and takes plenty of naps.

Poka is still working through separation issues so if left alone while confined (crated) she may start whining; despite this, when leaving the house for a protracted period of time she has done well. So far she loves other dogs; she always wants to play. She seems to be a pack dog. She velcros to her foster’s smaller pit mix and follows her *everywhere*. While she does absolutely love to play with other dogs, she does enjoy chew toys such as horns, antlers and nylabones, and can entertain herself.

Poka would benefit from an owner who is willing to take the time to train and entertain her. If Poka is placed in a household with an existing well-trained dog it may benefit her as well.

Full disclosure: Poka is a cuddler, and despite her size, she would love to lay in your bed or on the couch beside you.

We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Poka is patiently waiting!
