Meet Mandu! Mandu is an adorable 7-8 years old mini schnauzer from Korea. He weighs roughly 20lbs. This dumpling is a little bit stubborn, but a sweet guy in general. He doesn’t come to your lap, but he will sit right next to you and stay close by your side. He likes to get scratches, but he is sensitive in his right ear and back legs.

Mandu is very food motivated and knows sit and shake hand. He does extremely well on leash and car ride. He is always up for walks and go outside. He doesn’t pull and will greet people and other dogs. He seems to be cat and animal friendly, but hasn’t been tested in the house. He is house broken and crate trained. He will go into the crate with a treat, but doesn’t like to stay inside if he knows people are in the house.

He tends to take some time to settle in a new environment. Mandu only barks when there’s visitors in the house and wants to play, but he will stop barking when he’s given treats. His left eye is diagnosed with cataract and can’t be treated. He doesn’t not seem to be affected by it. As he ages, his right eye should be monitored regularly. He had ear infection and was treated. However, he doesn’t like to have his ears cleaned. He is sensitive with his ears and can react out of fear. He gets very nervous when being picked up unexpectedly. So this may be a concern to get him groomed. For short term, it’s recommended to put a muzzle on him or ask for professional help. It will require a lot of patience and treats for him to overcome his fear.

Mandu may enjoy other pet companion in similar size, but he will be just fine hanging with his human(s). Ideal adopter will be mature family with moderately active life style. Mandu has a lot of love to give but he still needs to learn how to show it. He is patiently waiting for the special family who is willing to welcome him home and give him the time and space to open up!
