Meet Luke! Luke is an adorable 2 year old Jindo mix. In May of 2021, Luke was found standing on a main road with heavy traffic in South Korea. When his rescuer arrived and got close to him, he stepped backward and unfortunately she was unable to get him. He was later caught and brought to a shelter where he spent some time there before his euthanasia date was set. Because he is so friendly and happy, shelter volunteers posted online for a plea to rescue him before his date. Luckily he got out and is now living in a foster home!

Luke is a sweet and submissive dog who loves to play with his foster brother.  He would make a great addition to a family that already has a dog his size or he would also love to have his people all to himself.  He is housetrained and sleeps quietly in a pen or crate. He does not seem to have any separation anxiety.  He is not a velcro dog.  His foster mom leaves him at home by himself when she goes to work with his foster brother and watches them on the doggie camera.  Luke sleeps through the day, no barking or whining.  When she gets home he is super excited to get out and go do something!

Luke likes to explore every nook and cranny of his environment, but does not get into anything. When off-leash in a confined space, Luke explores on his own, but always checks in with his foster mom.   Luke pulls a little on the leash when going for a walk, but after he has done his “business” he slows down, and the pulling stops.  His foster mom thinks he would make a great running partner as he has a fast and smooth gait.  Luke still needs to learn basic commands, but learning with his new forever family would be a great bonding experience. His foster brother competes in Barn Hunting and his foster mom thinks Luke is a great Barn Hunt candidate if you are looking for a dog to do competitions with.  His foster mom thinks he has great potential to be a sweet, gentle, and loving family dog.

We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Luke is patiently waiting!
