Meet Jei! Jei is an adorable 2 year and 4 months old Jindo/Shiba mix. Jei was one of 8 littermates who was rescued along with her mom from a pet hotel owner who raised them for dog meat sales in Korea. 3 of her siblings died before the rescue, and 4 including her was adopted out in NorCal and Oregon while her mom and one sister still remain in Korea with the rescuer. She has a severe trauma of being touched because she was abused before. She came to the US as an 11 months young puppy in Oct 2020 and was soon adopted after being fostered briefly, but unfortunately got returned recently.

Jei is a very smart and independent girl. She is very playful and is social with other dogs. She is curious and interested in humans and will come and lay down close to you, however, physical contact will be on her own terms. She is not picky with food, loves her treats and takes it very gently from your hands. She knows commands like sit, wait, and paw. Jei is great and actually enjoys car rides. Jei loves spending time in the backyard soaking up the sun or inside the house laying close to her humans. She does pull a little on leash but will respond to a little tug to be redirected. She has no problem going potty in the backyard, but loves her daily walks and playtime with the current foster brothers.

Ideal home would be a home with gentle and patient pawrents, with a yard and another existing dog, who are rescue dog savvy and understands the lifetime commitment to raising her as a true member of the family. Jei is patiently waiting!
