Meet Henry, he is tall, dark, and handsome with a heart of gold.  Henry is a sweetheart puppy dog in a big dog body.  He is medium to low energy but definitely needs to get out and stretch his long legs.  He needs to fill out and build some muscle to help him control his gangly legs.  He is like a teenager who grew so fast that his coordination is still catching up with the size of his limbs, but once he gets through this awkward stage he will be majestic.   He is already quite the eye-catcher when he and his foster mom are out for a walk. He plays fetch and is so gentle.  He loves everyone he meets and loves to be close to you and be hugged.  Let’s face it he is just a big loveable lug of a dog and darn near perfect.

Henry is very smart and very treat-motivated.  He naturally checks in with his foster mom when they are out and about and does not go far from her side.  He would sail through basic obedience classes with ease and would be a great candidate for higher-level training.  He is willing to work with his human. When in the house Henry does a lot of laying around and does not have separation anxiety.

Henry has spent most of his young life in a kennel situation so he still needs to get out and see the world and work through some of his uncertainty.  However, he is not shy, just inexperienced.  If something does scare him he will hide behind his foster mom like a big baby, but will soft growl/howl/bark like he is the biggest boy in town.  It is quite comical.  The good thing is that he overcomes the initial fear pretty quickly as soon as he figures it out and his curiosity overrides the uncertainty.

Henry really is the best and needs a home that will exercise him regularly and shower him with affection. We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Henry is patiently waiting!
