Meet Rio! Rio is an adorable 2 year old Jindo mix. He was found as a stray on a beach and brought to a high kill shelter. Rescuers got to him when his time ran out at the shelter. Rio is confident, loving, attentive, and active. He is the kind of dog that will match your energy level but is definitely happier when he gets to run and socialize with other dogs.
Rio is treat motivated and is always curious about what you’re doing and where you’re going… especially what you’re eating! He is great with kids and other dogs, sometimes he can be a little mouthy with other dogs but mostly because he’s guarding a gopher hole or a prized toy. He is a little all over the place on leash but is working on having more control. His recall is getting better and better everyday and he will definitely stick with “his person” regardless of where you or him wander off to.
Rio is such a sweet boy that has so much love to give. He would be best in an active home that could give him the playtime and the mental stimulation he deserves! We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Rio is patiently waiting!
