Dolly is a one-eyed, four-legged, adventure-loving, gopher-spotting, couch-snuggling, car-tripping, resilient survivor. She’s been through a lot in her short life. She was born on the streets, and found by rescuers at 5 months old, injured and almost dead. They saved her life, but she lost her right eye. She has been adopted and returned twice (through no fault of her own), has been separated from her dog-sister, and spent the first month at her foster mom’s house depressed. But, she has bounced back from these traumas and losses, and now she’s ready to see what the next chapter in her life holds.

Dolly has blossomed into a sweet, spunky, playful girl. She likes everyone she meets, and seems to actually like men more than women! Dolly loves jumping into the car to go on adventures, and would make a great beach-dog, snow-dog, or backpacking-dog. She would do well hanging out in a woodshop or an office, or even staying home and protecting the yard from squirrels and birds. She wouldn’t do well staying home alone in an apartment. Dolly also enjoys the quieter things in life. She loves snuggling on the couch and sleeping on the bed. She appreciates a nice belly scratch or ear rub. She watches TV, and protects the house from all the dogs coming out of the screen.

Dolly does great on a leash, and also has a good recall and can be trusted off-leash (after an adjustment period). She is house trained, doesn’t chew things, and loves to play with other dogs. She is polite, smart, and food motivated. She has learned not to chase her foster mom’s cat, but does have a high prey drive and would need discussion before being placed in a home with a cat. She is very sensitive to raised voices, so she will need to be with a gentle person or family.

Dolly is patiently waiting for the right person or family, who will love her as much as she deserves. Because adult dogs often get overlooked (everyone wants a puppy) Dolly has a benefactor who is willing to help subsidize the adoption fees for the right home.
