Meet Allie! Allie was rescued along with litter mates when they were found in a rural island located at the west coast of Taiwan where only 4 residents live. This island is where they process all the trash from mainland Taiwan. No one knew how dogs ended up on the island since it is isolated and no one can access the island without a boat. They believe these dogs were probably native from the island since the 4 residents on the island don’t own dogs. Unfortunately this means these dogs survived from eating garbage or the leftovers dumped. These dogs have since been living in the landfill. The coast guards inspecting the area found that the numbers of stray dogs were growing and exceeding more then the people who lives on the island.

The rescuers went on the island to try and catch the mother dog for the TNR program (Trap Neuter Return) however the mother dog is very savvy and smart and continued to escape the rescuers. The rescuers could only take the puppies to get them fixed and vetted. Unfortunately the shelters are full and cannot accept any more dogs. The rescuer didn’t want to see these pups back on the island to live in the landfill again so they took them back to mainland Taiwan hoping to find them a home.
Sadly, these pups have never had proper socialization with human and never experienced what it means to be in a home. They don’t know what treats are, what toys are, and will only look quietly. Poor pups don’t even know how to interact with other dogs but are curious and the rescuers are hopeful. These puppies will require a very special and patient home willing to socialize and show them what it means to be in a home. Allie is a shy and timid pup who would love to find a forever home. Allie is patiently waiting!
