No one said it would be easy, they only said it would be worth it.
Meet Abbey! Abbey was rescued as a stray when a rescued spotted her scavenging for food. Thankfully she was able to get her off the streets and to the vet for a fully check up. Abbey is a sweet girl who enjoys being around people. She can be a bit shy at first due to her treatment as a stray but once she opens up she is a very sweet and loving girl. We are looking for a home that is patient and will continue to show Abbie what it means to be in a home. Abbey is patiently waiting!
Hi Melody - things are going well with Abbey (Abbie). She's warming up little by little to all of us. She's particularly great with our 2 boys, loves mom as well, and is getting over her fear of me slowly. We think she thinks she likes me, but still has moments of uncertainty. She's a great walker on the leash in our neighborhood, and I took her on a longer walk yesterday up our hill to the upper rim trail of the Lafayette Reservoir. I'll forward you several pictures separately. Thanks so much for doing what you do with Love & Second Chances! We're really happy to have Abbey (we only changed the spelling rather than her entire name - seemed to fit her well) in our lives!
Best, Josh and Junko Nannen
If you have extra time on your hand and would like to help please consider volunteering! Rescue groups need dedicated volunteers to help with events, fundraisers, home checks, transports, etc. All of these things help enable the rescue to expand their network and help more dogs in need.
